I am Yoshida, president of Yamada Shusei Ltd., a professional apparel garment repair group in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture.

 

The other day, I ate out at Marugame Seimen. While enjoying the “Beef Sukiyaki Kamatama Udon”, the following poster caught my eye.

 

「It is worth the time and effort.」

 

I thought it was wonderful that they were so particular and dared to take the time and effort for their customers.

 

During times of inflation, it is important to maximize value for customers rather than simply aiming to reduce costs. A high value-added strategy in inflationary conditions is one effective management strategy. The following points can be considered.

 

(1) Differentiation

In a high value-added strategy, differentiation from other companies is critical. By offering unique products and services, we can avoid price competition.

 

(2) Increase customer satisfaction

Customer satisfaction can be increased by spending more time and effort. For example, providing customized services and high-quality after-sales services can increase customer loyalty.

 

3) Increase brand value

Adopting a high value-added strategy can increase the value of a brand. This will enable us to target a customer base that is not price-sensitive.

 

4) Long-term benefits

While this may be costly in the short term, in the long term it will earn the trust of customers and ensure a steady revenue stream.

 

I thought I would replace it with my own operations and try to improve the value of “sales activities,” “production activities,” and “management” in more concrete terms.
