I am Yoshida, president of Yamada Shusei Ltd., a professional apparel garment repair group in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture.
October was a turning point for Yamada Shusei Ltd., with the launch of the Create Division and Yoriito's first appearance at an outside event. However, in order for fruit to bear fruit, there is always the planting of seeds as a starting point.
It has been six years since I was transferred from the Tokyo Plant to the main plant, two years since I started preparing for new business, and two years since the change of president.I have been trying to build up the corporate organization.
As Team YAMADA, we have been working on "tidying up," "setting objectives and goals," and "team building.
This is part of the management philosophy and 100-year vision that we set forth prior to the change of president last year.
The situation in the apparel industry and the local textile industry is severe and unpredictable, but there have been a number of visible changes in the past six months, including the regular publication of a monthly in-house newsletter (YAMADA News), the establishment of a monthly in-house tasting event (Yoriito Cafe), the opening of the first Yoriito business store at an outside event, and the start of sample sewing in the Create Division. I feel that we are finally at the starting line of the "Creation" field.
However, it is yet to sprout, grow, and bear fruit. We will further focus on "promotion of environmental improvement projects" and "development of education and training systems," which are clearly stated in the SDGs declaration, to increase the speed of our growth. While we are prepared for some "growing pains," we will continue to cherish our "initial thoughts" and "encounters (relationships) with people" as set forth in our management philosophy and 100-year vision with even more "hope" than before.
