I am Yoshida, President of Yamada Shusei, a professional clothing repair group in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture.
Restoration" is the essence of Yamada Shusei's work in the "clothing" part of "food, clothing, and shelter," which are the basics of life. There are three key points to this.
(1) Making the best use of products: There is no such thing as a product that is made to be disposed of. The role of restoration is to bring back to life products that have lost their place and are in danger of dying.
(2) Making use of the human relationships behind the product: Many companies and people are involved in the production and sale of products. The "repair" process restores the trust of those involved.
3) The ultimate goal is to eliminate the need for "repair": If repairing delivery problems that occur is "emergency medicine," the ultimate goal is "preventive medicine. What can Yamada Shusei do to achieve this goal? We believe that this is one of the issues we need to tackle in the future.
Yamada Shusei is challenging these three issues.
