I am Yoshida, president of Yamada Shusei , a professional apparel garment repair group in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture.
Yamada Shusei Limited is approaching its 60th year in business. In this day and age, it is no small feat for a company to continue in business for 60 years.
Yamada Shusei is currently facing the challenge of generational change, both in management and in the field. In recent years, with the coronavirus raging around the world, we are being confronted with the fact that the rules of thumb of the past do not apply, but at the same time, I believe that it is becoming increasingly important to return to principles and respond to change.
The principles in nation building are said to be "history," "national language," and "education. The essence of this principle is to firmly link the "nation" and its "people. By forming an identity as a "nation" ,one has not only external ties such as institutions and laws, but also an emotional bond of pride in belonging to that nation.
The same can be said for organizational development. In order to build a strong company that will not be defeated by the changing times, it is important to share the same "language," "recognition," and "tools. At Yamada Shusei, we call this process "environmental improvement”.
